Martinez Started “Breakfast After The Bell” To Ensure Every Child Gets A Good Breakfast, And Protected Taxpayers By Prohibiting Welfare Cards In Bars And Casinos
The Susana Martinez for Governor campaign released a new television ad called “Breakfast.” The commercial highlights how Governor Martinez started “Breakfast After The Bell,” a program that serves breakfast to more than 60,000 elementary school students every year right at their desk. Governor Martinez goes on to say that while she supports a strong safety net to help those most in need, there must also be measures to stop adults from abusing the system. That’s why her administration prohibited the use of welfare cards in places like bars and casinos. Governor Martinez says, “We can help those in need and protect taxpayers.” Watch the commercial here: http://bit.ly/1utgL4f.
“By starting a program that feeds tens of thousands of low-income students every year, and at the same time stopping adults from using welfare cards at bars and casinos, Governor Martinez is demonstrating that it is possible to protect taxpayers and give a hand up to those most in need,” Martinez campaign spokesman Chris Sanchez said.
